Summer Responsibilities ● Oversee the daily operation of the Health Center and the health and wellness program. ● Supervise and support nurses, physicians, nursing students, and Health Center support staff. ● Maintain complete and accurate health records and required medical documentation using Camp YJ’s camp platforms and software. ● Manage the Health Center schedule and ensure appropriate medical coverage. ● Oversee assessment and treatment of campers and staff in accordance with nursing scope of practice, standing orders, camp policies, and applicable regulations. ● Ensure safe medication storage, administration, documentation, and disposal. ● Respond to medical emergencies and coordinate additional medical care, including EMS, hospital, urgent care, and outside provider services when necessary. ● Communicate significant medical concerns and emergencies to the COO, Medical Director, and Executive Director. ● Communicate with parents and guardians regarding significant health concerns, treatment, medications, and follow-up care. ● Work closely with counselors, Area Heads, and camp leadership to manage ongoing camper health needs and care expectations. ● Oversee health services for summer staff, including illness, injury, medications, and necessary follow-up care. ● Monitor illness and communicable disease trends and implement appropriate health and prevention protocols. ● Collaborate with the Camper Care Team on camper mental and emotional health concerns and coordinate with families and outside providers when appropriate. ● Coordinate and supervise nursing students completing clinical rotations at camp.
