Educational Alliance has served Lower Manhattan for over 130 years, offering education, health and wellness, arts and culture, and civic engagement programming across 15 sites on the Lower East Side and East Village. Its Community Schools & Youth Development program delivers youth development services integrated into the school day, after school, and summer, in partnership with NYC public schools, DYCD, the NYC Office of Community Schools, and the Boys and Girls Clubs of America. The Community School Director provides leadership at one of these community school sites, serving as a full-time staff person in the school building.
Responsibilities: • Advise the principal and coordinate activities among school partners, including 6th-grade dean responsibilities • Organize Community School Team meetings and help develop and implement the school's Community School Plan within the RSCEP • Collaborate with school leadership, teachers, and partner agencies to add expanded learning activities to the school schedule • Serve on the school's attendance team, using data tools to monitor student progress and interventions • Organize assessments of student and family needs and facilitate targeted interventions for students with high needs • Manage contract data systems, family engagement, vision screenings, health services, and local partnerships
Qualifications: • Bachelor's degree required; master's preferred • 3-5 years of program management experience preferred • Ability to work effectively with school-aged youth, educators, families, and communities from a wide range of backgrounds • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills • Proficiency in all Microsoft Office applications
