The Katz JCC is seeking an energetic and passionate Barre Instructor to lead engaging, safe, and effective Barre fitness classes, and to assist the Group Fitness Supervisor in coordinating and overseeing all Barre programming at the JCC.
Responsibilities: • Teach a minimum of 3 Barre classes per week and arrange substitute instructors when needed • Recruit, train, and schedule certified instructors; coordinate Barre staff meetings and trainings • Help develop new Barre classes and special events, and assist with the monthly class schedule • Maintain a safe, comfortable studio environment and report hazards or malfunctioning equipment • Track rosters and class attendance in the Mindbody CRM and maintain ongoing member communication • Assist with marketing, promotion, and community outreach for Barre classes and special events
Qualifications: • National Barre Instructor certification plus at least one other specialty certification (Core Barre, Spin, Zumba, or Yoga) • 3+ years of experience teaching Barre classes • First Aid/CPR/AED certified • Strong background in dance, Pilates, or fitness instruction, with an understanding of proper form, alignment, and modifications • Strong organizational, leadership, and communication skills
