Jewish Museum of Maryland | Baltimore, MD Hourly Rate: $29.00 | Part-time, 16 hours/week Reports to: Exhibits Manager
The Opportunity
The Jewish Museum of Maryland (JMM) seeks an Exhibit Coordinator to support the organization as it continues to build a robust exhibit schedule following capital updates and expansion of gallery spaces. The Exhibit Coordinator will work cross-departmentally supporting JMM staff in exhibit development and execution.
Main Responsibilities
Support project development for gallery-based projects, including maintaining schedules, attending team meetings, articulating project goals and strategy briefs, and general administrative tasks Support the installation and maintenance of JMM galleries across the campus, taking an active role in gallery preparations between exhibits and maintenance throughout the run of staged shows Provide support for internal and external exhibit curators Assist in the development, production, and installation of exhibit graphic elements Assist in the asset procurement process, including image, film, and audio Assist in loan processes, working with both institutions and private individuals
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree preferred; alternatively, 1+ years of experience in a similar role Expertise in Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop) preferred Strong writing and communication skills Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite Knowledge of Jewish communal sector is a plus Experience in cultural heritage is a plus Occasional Sunday and evening hours required May require occasional lifting up to 25 lbs.
Benefits: 48 hours vacation and 28 hours sick time per year; JMM observes Jewish holidays including Rosh Hashana, Yom Kippur, Sukkot, Shemini Atzeret, Simchat Torah, Shavuot, and Passover.
