Temple Emanuel Early Childhood Center (TEECC) is a vibrant, full-day, year-round early childhood program in Kensington, Maryland serving families with children ages 18 months to 5 years. Inspired by the schools of Reggio Emilia, Italy and its Reform Jewish context, TEECC cultivates a culture where learning is co-constructed, creativity is honored, and relationships are at the heart of everything.
TEECC is seeking educators who are curious, reflective, and excited to learn alongside children every day, and is interviewing for both immediate and future openings.
Responsibilities: • Co-construct curriculum based on children's interests and inquiries • Design thoughtful, aesthetically rich classroom environments • Engage children in long-term investigations and creative expression • Collaborate daily with a team of dedicated educators • Build meaningful partnerships with families • Use documentation and digital tools to make learning visible
Qualifications: • High school diploma or equivalent required • 90-hour Certificate in Early Childhood Curriculum and Development, or a four-year college degree in education or a related field • Experience working with young children, preferably in a classroom setting • A collaborative spirit and commitment to ongoing professional development • Excellent verbal and written communication skills • Physical ability to ensure the safety and care of young children, including lifting up to 40 lbs, carrying or chasing children, and sitting on and rising from the floor
Compensation: Competitive hourly pay, commensurate with experience and education.
