The Marketing & Events Specialist is a key member of the Development team with primary responsibility for telling the story of the impact of JFCS through social media and content creation, and for building brand awareness of the organization within the community. The position also leads special event planning and implementation. A vital element of this role is creating and implementing a comprehensive marketing strategy that supports the organization's development goals and strategic plan.
Responsibilities: • Support the Development lead in development and marketing efforts aligned with fundraising goals • Develop a long-range marketing, branding, and community relations plan • Design multi-channel campaigns across email, social media, print, and web to promote upcoming events • Cultivate relationships with media, volunteers, and other organizations, and expand community outreach through a speaker's bureau and volunteer activities • Research and develop all aspects of JFCS special events to ensure financial and attendance objectives are met • Provide staff support for volunteers and committees charged with fundraising events • Analyze campaign performance using key performance metrics, deliver post-event reports, and track event expenses
Qualifications: • Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, or a related field • Minimum of 3 years' experience in marketing or a fundraising function with responsibility for both idea creation/planning and implementation within a community-based organization • Experience planning and implementing fundraising and other special events; nonprofit experience preferred • Working knowledge of social media tracking tools and Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, InDesign) or Canva • Proficiency in event management software, CRM databases, and marketing automation tools • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Donor Perfect, and Constant Contact • Ability to lift and carry up to 30 pounds
