Job Description

The Israel and Overseas Engagement Associate plays a central role in the Israel and Overseas department, with responsibility for Partnership2Gether (P2G), Israel Scholarships, community Israel engagement programming, and related initiatives. This position works closely with staff, volunteers, lay leaders, community partners, and international stakeholders, and suits a self-starter who can manage a variety of tasks and details while serving a big-picture goal.

Responsibilities:

• Plan strategic direction for Partnership2Gether, the sister-city program connecting Pittsburgh, Karmiel/Misgav, Israel, and the Jewish community in Warsaw • Manage the P2G budget, allocations, and committee processes, and recruit new volunteers to the partnership committee • Establish and maintain relationships with key P2G stakeholders in Pittsburgh, Israel, and Warsaw • Create itineraries for visiting delegations and lead planning for community-wide Israel engagement programming, including Yom Ha'atzmaut • Manage the Israel Scholarship program and committee, including the annual application process and scholarship portal • Serve as Federation liaison for Diller Teen Fellows and support the Birthright Onward Israel program with the local Hillel

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field required; master's degree preferred • 3–5 years of relevant experience in Israel engagement, Jewish communal service, nonprofit programming, or community engagement • Strong connection to, knowledge of, and familiarity with the land, people, and history of Israel • Excellent written and oral communication and relationship-building skills • Hebrew language skills a plus; willingness to work some evenings and weekends and travel overseas at least once every two years

Compensation: $52,000 to $65,000 a year, commensurate with experience. Benefits include health care and retirement, generous time off, a hybrid work arrangement, and paid parental leave.
