Job Description

Selfhelp seeks a Director of Social Services for its Safety Net program to plan, organize, and coordinate program operations directly and through supervisory staff.

Responsibilities: • Develop, implement, and maintain departmental projects, policies, procedures, and quality-assurance standards • Supervise social work staff, students, and volunteers • Provide case management — assessment, information and referral, entitlements and benefits, care planning, advocacy, and counseling • Manage the program budget, funder reports, and the NY Times Neediest Program • Represent the organization at community meetings and inter-agency councils

Qualifications: • Master's degree in Social Work (MSW) required; SIFI certified preferred • At least two years of case management services to elders living in the community • Experience supervising social work staff, students, and volunteers • Computer literate with excellent verbal, written, and customer-service skills

Salary: $75,000–$77,400 per year, commensurate with experience.
