Har El, the North Shore Centre for Jewish Life (West Vancouver), an egalitarian Conservative synagogue, seeks a Managing Director to oversee its long-term sustainability in partnership with the Board, Rabbi, staff, and congregants.
Responsibilities: • Develop and implement an annual fundraising strategy (major gifts, grants, events, donor stewardship) • Supervise a small staff team and oversee operations and the operating budget • Serve as liaison between staff and the Board; prepare reports and support governance • Strengthen communications and foster a welcoming, inclusive environment for members
Qualifications: proven leadership experience (nonprofit, synagogue, or community organization); strong fundraising, communications, and engagement skills; knowledge of Jewish customs, culture, and lifecycle events (Conservative movement an asset); office-software and CRM proficiency.
Full-time, on-site (some evenings/weekends). Salary: $80,000–$90,000 CAD plus benefits.
