Congregation Nevei Kodesh is a multi-generational Jewish Renewal community located in Boulder CO. In addition to our paid teachers, the school is supported by parent volunteers and past graduates. All are parttime, working together in a cooperative and creative environment, and motivated to provide our children with an uplifting and inspiring Jewish learning experience. We’re seeking a Religious School teacher for these position: ● Kindergarten/1st grade combined class (for Sunday afternoon program) You can learn more about Nevei Kodesh at our website. Our ideal candidate will resonate with our community’s essence - Heartfelt, Transformational Judaism. This is an hourly position on Sundays (oriented around the Jewish holiday and school calendars. OVERALL RESPONSIBILITIES ● Create thoughtful lesson plans that follow the curriculum and incorporate multiple learning styles. ● Maintain an effective behavior management system within your classroom. ● Collaborate with your fellow teachers ● Professionally communicate with parents/guardians when necessary. TIME COMMITMENTS ● In the classroom 15 Sundays from 2:15- 5:45 p.m. ● Attend three Saturday morning family services ● Attend Religious School Staff meetings (at least two per year) NECESSARY SKILLS AND ATTRIBUTES ● Previous education experience required ● Ability to create a safe and welcoming classroom environment ● Knowledge of Judaism appropriate to position ● Fluent English speaker with a working knowledge of religious Hebrew ● Strong organizational, collaborative, and communication skills ● Professional writing ability and computer literacy ● Reliable transportation
