Job Description

The Case Manager is a non-exempt position responsible for coordinating family reunification services with family and/or qualified sponsors and assessing the needs of each unaccompanied child (UC) in care.

Responsibilities:

  • Use trauma-informed theory and brief therapeutic techniques when working with unaccompanied children entering the United States
  • Complete intake interviews upon admission, promptly identify needs, and prepare assessments and related social and medical history reports
  • Establish a trusting relationship with each client
  • Identify, locate, and make contact with the child's sponsor within the United States
  • Identify services needed, make referrals accordingly, and coordinate the service planning process
  • Ensure the concise and timely completion of all administrative, clinical, and caseload documentation
  • Safeguard the human and legal rights of clients
  • Coordinate discharge planning, including transporting unaccompanied minors to their destination and arranging post-release services

Compensation & Benefits:

  • $25.69 – $27.81 per hour depending on experience, plus shift differentials for evening, overnight, and weekend hours

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in the human services field and one year of experience working with children
  • Experience in residential services serving child welfare or refugee resettlement programs preferred
  • Bilingual skills in Spanish, Haitian Creole, and/or French preferred
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office; knowledge of community service providers
  • Ability to travel with children, including overnight travel as needed
  • Proof of immunization for Varicella, MMR, Influenza, and Tdap; valid driver's license with auto insurance coverage
