Job Description

About Us: Ark Media is a mission-driven podcast network exploring the big questions shaping Jewish life, Israel's future, and our rapidly changing world. We prioritize high-impact original programming and are building a globally engaged community through rigorous dialogue.

About the Role: We're building Ark's written editorial products, starting with a weekly newsletter, and we're looking for a Senior Newsletter Editor to both define and produce the product. This role brings editorial judgment, subject-matter expertise, strong writing, and product sensibility. You'll report to the COO with editorial guidance from the CEO.

Responsibilities: Building the Newsletter Product • Define the editorial promise, audience, format, tone, and structure • Create original written value distinct from our audio content • Recommend an access strategy based on best practices and business goals • Integrate analysis, contributor columns, reporting, and audience questions

Writing, Editing & Packaging • Own the weekly newsletter from concept through publication • Write original sections including editorial notes and analysis • Edit contributor pieces for clarity and Ark standards • Maintain a consistent voice while establishing the newsletter's identity

Managing Contributors • Oversee recurring and occasional contributors • Assign pieces and manage deadlines • Build sustainable workflows that don't depend on a single voice

Publishing Workflow • Manage beehiiv publishing platform operations • Create repeatable planning and approval processes • Coordinate across production, marketing, and audience teams

Performance Analysis • Define success metrics for written products • Track opens, clicks, engagement, and reader feedback • Optimize based on data while preserving editorial judgment

Qualifications: • 5+ years in newsletters, journalism, editorial product, or digital media • Direct experience building or materially shaping newsletters • Published writing demonstrating clear analysis and command of complex subjects • Demonstrated knowledge of Jewish life, Israel, geopolitics, and diaspora issues • Hands-on command of newsletter publishing workflows • Experience with newsletter analytics • Background working with contributors and editorial voices • Proven ability to work in fast-moving environments with high standards • Strong mission alignment with Ark's focus areas

Preferred: Beehiiv experience; paid membership/subscription product experience.

Salary: $95,000–$140,000 annually for U.S.-based candidates; international compensation varies by market. International candidates will be considered and must be available 9 a.m.–6 p.m. ET.
