The Harry & Rose Samson Family Jewish Community Center's Hourly Childcare program seeks a Childcare Teacher to create a safe, warm, and engaging environment where children feel cared for and supported. Working closely with your classroom team, you'll run smooth daily routines, provide high-quality care and enrichment, and build positive connections with the children, families, and community members the JCC serves.
Schedule: Hourly Childcare hours of operation are 7:45am–11:15am, Monday–Sunday.
Responsibilities: • Directly supervise the children in your care and support children and families • Keep children in sight and sound at all times and maintain a safe, well-organized, healthy environment • Partner with the Hourly Childcare Coordinator to deliver developmentally, individually, and culturally appropriate daily programming • Provide an emotional environment of acceptance in which children grow with a positive self-concept • Maintain a high level of customer service and respond promptly to member needs • Participate in department meetings, trainings, and professional growth opportunities
Qualifications: • Must be 17 years of age or older • High school diploma or equivalent preferred • Minimum of 1 year of childcare experience preferred • Current CPR and First Aid certification for infants, children, and adults (training provided on site as needed) • Ability to work as part of a team and articulate the influence of Judaic culture on programs and mission-based work
