Torah Academy is seeking dedicated, creative and warm elementary general studies teachers for its boys division. This role is ideal for a current graduate student in education, someone interested in exploring becoming a teacher, or a recently retired teacher who isn't quite ready to leave it all behind.
Responsibilities:
• Create a warm, caring and safe environment, building nurturing relationships with students and providing age-appropriate supervision, classroom rules and routines • Teach all general studies content areas including ELA, History, Math and Science, using a curriculum aligned with Massachusetts state standards • Teach an upper elementary grade (3, 4 or 5) • Provide feedback to students and families on academic, social and behavioral progress and maintain appropriate records • Create two-way communication channels with families
Qualifications:
• Prior successful experience with elementary students • Strong commitment to practicing differentiated instruction • Passion for educating children and creativity in challenging young minds
Schedule: Mondays-Thursdays 1:00-4:00 p.m., Fridays 12:00-1:30/2:30 p.m.
Salary: $24,000-$32,000 per year, commensurate with experience.
