Job Description

Capital Camps & Retreat Center, a non-profit Jewish camping and retreat organization, is seeking a Community Care Manager to join its year-round Camp Team. This role fosters inclusive and supportive environments where children and staff can thrive emotionally, socially and physically.

Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with families to integrate camper needs into the planning process and design individualized support plans • Develop and update camper and staff intake forms, including medical forms, camper profiles and staff applications • Review camper and staff files before camp begins, collaborating with parents, medical professionals and therapists • Collaborate with the Atzma'im (inclusion program) Coordinator on camper intake and staff placement • Lead pre-camp staff training on positive social interactions, managing challenging behaviors, supporting campers with diverse needs, homesickness and staff self-care • Reside on-site during the summer as the primary point of contact for social, emotional and mental health matters • Supervise the seasonal Yoetzot team and oversee all aspects of Health Center operations including hiring, onboarding and training

Qualifications:

• A licensed professional with a background in social work, psychology, counseling or education (LCSW, LPC or equivalent preferred) • Experience working with children and adolescents, particularly in a camp, school or similar setting • Exceptional communication, organizational and leadership skills • A collaborative mindset and ability to work within a multidisciplinary team

Location: Summer worksite in Waynesboro, PA; year-round worksite in North Bethesda, MD. Reports to the Camp Director.

Salary: $60,000-$70,000 annual full-time salary, commensurate with experience. Part-time employment available.
